Observer Almost Defeats V-Monologues

The Observer at Boston College made an impact on the UGBC Senate debate over whether or not to extend funding to this year’s production of the Vagina Monologues recently. Citing both the need to represent minority student opinion on campus and the need to be as respectful as possible of the religious beliefs of the BC community, John Karl led the charge against the measure. When challenged by other senators to explain how many students he thought were opposed to the play and what their specific objections might be, John Karl specifically referenced The Observer, noting the newspaper’s long history of campaigning against the play.
