Mr. Kreiner:

I am sorry to hear of your grievances with Kramer Properties. Nonetheless, even the best companies make errors, and, as may be clearly seen by the context which the contest guidelines provide (available at http://www.collegiatenetwork.org/component/content/article/3-newsflash/107-entrepreneur-lunch-contest), my purpose in writing this article was to relate my interview with Mr. Kramer rather than publish some sort of expose regarding his business practices. However, prior to submitting this article, I spoke to several ND students who had only good things to say about their current Kramer Properties rentals. Furthermore, my conversation with Mr. Kramer left me quite impressed by his evident sincerity and concern for the well-being of his tenants, which was far beyond that of the average landlord.

Finally, if you wish your comments to be taken seriously, you might take a little more care in their composition.

Sincerely,
Claire Gillen

Caveat Emptor! Mr. Kramer sounds like your basic, easy to work with landlord.

But wait, there's another side to this story, one you may not have heard. When students move out of a Kramer property, they and their parents are at a wicked disadvantage; they are back home, perhaps thousands of miles away, and as such, are at Mr. Kramer's mercy. When the final rental statement arrives at the departed Renters home, there are both many and outrageous charges against the Renter, which are deducted from the Student's - and Parents hard earned Rental Deposit. When our son, Britton, moved out of the Kramer house he rented until graduation in May 2008, Kramer Properties charged him over $160. for cleaning, even though both his Mom, Dad and Sister assisted in cleaning the place. Needless to say, it was CLEANER than when he moved in a year prior. Along with the outrageous charges, I had to make a special trip to South Bend to demand the Kramer Properties fix the Furnace as the inside of the house was 38 degrees when I arrived.

Perhaps you should investigate exactly what Kramer does to the dearly departed students before you write such a glowing article about his practices.
