The question of abortion is not whether women can choose or not, but whether what they are choosing to do in abortion is actually murder or not. Certainly women do not have the right to choose to gun down someone out of anger or to steal millions of dollars. So the question is do they have the right to choose to have an abortion?

It has been obvious for a long time that the creature inside a mother's womb once out of her womb is a human being. While many societies practiced infanticide, ours recognizes that this is wrong. So the question is whether the creature inside the womb is human or not. It eventually develops into a human being, but when does it start being one? At birth? This seems not to make much sense that a creature inside the womb is inhuman and able to be extinguished while the creature out of the womb must be protected.

Either our society must start the practice of infanticide up to perhaps age two (as Peter Singer recommends) or it must stop ending the lives of unborn babies. The logic should be consistent. So since most people abhor the idea of infanticide, they should also abhor the idea of abortion. Abortion doesn't rid a woman of useless tissue. It ends the growth process of a being which, unless otherwise killed, would grow to a full-grown adult.

Rape and incest make up 1% of abortions. Health of the mother issues make up about 6% of abortions. That leaves 93% of abortions due to greed, selfishness, unrestrained choices, and the like. The question remains however, is the baby being killed, human. (I say baby because a simple thought experiment can prove it has what philosophers call “being.” Try to refer to yourself in your mother’s womb without adding a personal pronoun to yourself.)

Kathy Ireland, many years ago, was on Bill Mahers Politically Incorrect and the discussion that ensued shows the frailty of the liberal/relativistic position:

Bill Maher: Kathy, why do you oppose a women’s right to choose

Kathy Ireland: Bill, when my husband was going to medical school I underwent a transformation. Because I used to be in favor of abortion. But I noticed when I was reading through some of his medical teaching books, that according to a law in science known as the law of biogenesis, every living thing reproduces after it own kind. That means dog produce dogs, cats produce cats, humans produce humans. If we want to know what something is we simply ask what are its parents. If we know what the parents are, we know what the thing in question is. And I reasoned from that because human parents can only produce human offspring, unborn human fetuses could be nothing but human beings, because the law of biogenesis rules out every other alternative. And I concluded therefore that because human fetuses were part of our family, we should not harm them without justification.

Bill Maher: Well Kathy, that’s just your opinion!

In October 2002, Kathy Ireland made a compelling argument against abortion on the Fox News Channel's Hannity and Colmes political debate show. Alan Colmes described Ireland's opinions as religious, but Ireland said that her views on abortion do not stem from faith. She asserted that even atheists could realize that abortion is wrong. Kathy told Alan that her belief is founded in science and technology, which she says, "has come a long way since Roe vs. Wade."

Ireland also defended her values as being pro-women, stating, "We need to support these women who are in crisis pregnancy situations." She claimed that because scientific evidence proves that abortion is murder, "I have no choice but to defend the most vulnerable among us."

Cheryl, you may enjoy one of my favorite speakers on the subject. He gave this 40-minute speech at Gordon College; it may enlighten and embolden your view.

The question of "choice" starts when a woman "chooses" to open her legs with little of no thought of the consequences. We have become a society of instant gratification and selfish satisfaction. It is time we wake up and realize we are responsible for our actions - all of them. The time to be responsible is before conception - not after. It's a sad commentary on the fiber of the American woman when she thinks her rights outweigh the rights of the child she is carrying. Rather than tell men to "keep it in their pants" - why don't WE take responsibility for ourselves for a change and keep our knees together? We need to quit blaming others for our lack of self control and inability to take responsibility to "prevent" unwanted pregnancies. Once there is another heart beating within us... it is that child's right to be born. To have a chance at life. To exist. How can anyone think they have the right to tear that innocent little body limb from limb - to murder the child in their womb? Wake up women! Make your "choice" at the right time - before you have to commit murder to correct your mistake.

A womans right is to have sex, be responsible and use protection or not. That is her right; abortion is killing another person. It may be in a woman's body, but it is another person - therefore it is murder.

The fight for abortion is like so many other things that are vile. Follow the money. Planned parenthood receives billions and abortion doctors make millions. It has nothing to do with a womans right, it has to do with money.

The Democrats are responsible for millions and millions of little babies killed. Every hour 200 are killed. This is a sin and God will come down on us with a vengeance if we don't put a stop to this vile practice.

You don't get it--you don't get to decide what I do with my body, regardless as to the basis of your arguments. You religion, morals, personal values and politics have no value to me and I will not be forced to live by your agenda--get it through your head, dearie. I don't care what you think or what you say or do. I am not going to be told what to do with my body by some wingnut on parade, or some wingnut politician, religous, freak, or dittoheaded fool. You have no input in my decisions and you have no value in my life. Don't like it? Too bad--suck it up and shut your trap, but stay out of my life. Period. Not negotiable.

Women are not community property and therefore not subject to forced childbearing or servitude of any kind. Forced childbearing is servitude and for some women, a death sentence. Women are individuals, just like men and we demand the right to make life's decisions regarding ALL aspects of our lives, every step of the way. What risks, hardships or changes in our direction in life is our concern alone; not yours or the communities'. Men are not subject to prohibitions regarding their medical care or life's choices and women no longer accept those arbitary limitations either.
To put a fetus on the same level with their mothers is perverse. To for servitude on the unwilling is a gross denial of our rights as human beings.
Rights are often conferred based on maturity and age and have been for centuries. Children do not have the same rights a adults; one adult cannot force another against their will - that is criminal. The law also states that individuals are not essentially "spare parts" for another individual, hence forced blood donations, organ donations, tissue testing is illegal.
You need to get a grip; if you don't like abortion, keep what you have in your pants, use contraception wisely and don't pay for a abortion out of you personal funds. Otherwise, women should be shown the same consideration as men in all aspects of their lives.
