Mourning in America
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008by Michael Reer
Last night represents the biggest blow to the conservative movement in my generation’s memory. The loss wasn’t pretty, and it sure does sting. My advice to you is this; savor this moment, this feeling, this atmosphere. Remember how the streets of your city were last night, jammed pack with people screaming about how the Bush era is finally over and how change is finally upon us. Take this feeling, and use it. Use it for motivation for the next four years. Use it every time you feel like quitting, each and every time you feel like you can take a day off, every time you feel that maybe, just maybe, our future is not worth the hours of hard work and energy you spend trying to secure it. Our road is long and it is formidable. It will not be easy. I do not pretend that there is a quick solution nor one that we will be able to pursue with anything but our very best efforts. I will tell you, however, that it is possible to retake this country for the conservative values that are at the very core of our beings; to retake this country for the sake of our children, our parents, the unborn, those in uniform, and even ourselves. Start working now. We will not pause for a moment nor stand idle for even a second as we begin to prepare for the national elections in just two short years. If, and only if, we begin now will we be able to rebuild the conservative juggernaut that, at one time, held this country secure in its values and policies. That juggernaut is now but a dream, but it is a dream that we will rebuilt together, knocking on one door and writing one article at a time.
