Lost in Translation

“U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D. Toledo) whipped the crowd up before Mr. Obama took the stage yesterday telling them that America needed a Second Bill of Rights guaranteeing all Americans a job, health care, homes, an education, and a fair playing field for business and farmers.”

I wonder if Representative Kaptur ever read the Russian constitution. It sounds an awful lot like the one she is describing. Such ill-conceived and flippant sentiment is becoming increasingly common among the Obama crowd as the polls dare them to become ever bolder in revealing their true platform. Such a bill of rights would utterly destroy the U.S. Constitution. Promising things that the government simply can’t deliver on, such as universal employment, undermines the very ground the government stands upon. Should a worker find himself unemployed under this new system, can he sue in a court of law for a job? Can we have the audacity to employ those that show no willingness to perform their jobs energetically and robustly? More importantly, can we afford to cheapen the most critical parts of our constitution, such as freedom of religion and speech, by reducing the amendments to mere symbolic sentiment? Spending two years learning the Russian language has taught me many Russian sayings from the Soviet period, one of which seems especially relevant considering this master plan to bankrupt the government to give people jobs even if their services are not needed. The Soviet workers used to joke that “we pretend to work and they (the government) pretend to pay us.” This, combined with the admission (reported by Fox News) that Obama purposefully surrounded himself with “the Marxist professors” is starting to raise some serious questions directly before Election Day about Obama’s real political philosophy. Without a doubt, Obama would be the most liberal president the nation has ever seen and this realization among voters might be the reason why today’s Gallop poll only showed Obama with a slim two point lead.
